AN ENTERPRISE VOICE SERVICES PLATFORM
ABOUT ORION LABS
Orion Labs is dedicated to connecting people, organizations, and devices through seamless voice communication. Combined with their push-to-talk device - the Onyx, and their mobile app, Orion Labs has been working on a plan to spearhead their way into the enterprise space. Within 8 months of joining, the platform I designed was announced at the IWCE conference in Las Vegas on March 27, 2017.
I was brought onto the team to:
Create the enterprise web application for our customers who wanted to manage their teams on a larger level
Create the subscription model for the enterprise web application
Create an internal sales tool for our sales team
Work with other designers on updating branding for the company
WHY BUILD A COMMAND CENTER?
In the past, users were able to use their Onyx devices (smart walkie-talkie) with our mobile app to talk in real-time in 1-to-1 messaging or in group messaging. In a consumer capacity, this worked our well because individuals could manage their own account.
Our business goal was to make the shift to cater to enterprise use cases, meaning we had to cater to a large amount of users, where a hierarchy may exist (ex: manager with team) and we needed to have a way for organizations to get set-up with Orion voice services on an administrative level and be able to manage their teams and communication groups.
Taking the product design document, we distilled the MVP into 3 main portions: the admin portal, manage users and manage groups. The challenge? We had to deliver a functioning platform in 8 months.

The Command Center
From conception to completion, we delivered our minimal viable product in under 8 months.
To give organizations a way to manage their users and groups, we created "Setting" views to help provision permissions.
